1. Who We Are

recro.me is an AI-powered tech hiring marketplace operated by Henry Gonsalves ("we", "us", "our"). By using recro.me you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the platform.

2. Who Can Use recro.me

You must be at least 18 years old and legally permitted to work in the United States. By creating an account you confirm that the information you provide is accurate and that you are authorized to use the service.

3. Two Types of Users

Candidates (engineers looking for work)

Using recro.me to find a job is free forever. You upload your resume, we extract your skills using AI, and we match you to open roles based on skill overlap. You are responsible for the accuracy of your resume. We do not guarantee job placement or interviews.

Startups (companies hiring)

Posting roles and accessing candidate shortlists is free. A placement fee of 15% of the candidate's first-year base salary is charged only when you confirm an offer and the candidate accepts. No fee is owed if no hire is made.

4. Placement Fee and Payments

When a startup confirms an offer through recro.me, a Stripe invoice is generated for 15% of the agreed first-year base salary. Payment is due within 30 days of invoice. Late payments may accrue interest at 1.5% per month.

If a hired candidate leaves within 90 days of their start date for reasons other than termination by the startup, we will provide one free replacement search. No cash refunds are issued.

5. Your Content

You retain ownership of your resume and any content you submit. By uploading it you grant recro.me a limited license to process and display it for the purpose of matching and recruiting. We do not sell your resume or personal information to third parties. Candidate skill profiles are used internally only and are not shown to other candidates.

6. AI Matching

Match percentages are calculated by comparing extracted skills against job requirements. They are informational only and do not guarantee fit, interviews, or offers. AI extraction may occasionally misread or miss skills in your resume. You can contact us to flag errors.

7. Prohibited Use

Uploading false, misleading, or fraudulent resumes or job postings
Using the platform to scrape data, spam candidates or startups, or abuse the API
Attempting to reverse-engineer, bypass, or compromise the platform's security
Creating multiple accounts to circumvent rate limits or other restrictions
Using recro.me for any purpose other than legitimate hiring or job searching

8. Account Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or permanently terminate any account that violates these terms, engages in fraudulent activity, or abuses the platform, with or without notice. You may delete your own account at any time from the settings page.

9. Limitation of Liability

recro.me is provided as-is. We are not liable for any failed placements, missed opportunities, inaccurate AI results, or disputes between candidates and startups. Our total liability to any party is limited to the fees paid to us in the 3 months preceding the claim, or $100, whichever is greater.

10. Privacy

Your use of recro.me is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these terms by reference.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms at any time. If we make material changes we will notify users by email or by posting a notice on the platform. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.

12. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina, United States. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Mecklenburg County, NC.
